Last week our Director of Research in Healthcare, Amelia Newbury, presented a webinar that educated participants on a developing cloud-based platform that has the potential to transform the effectiveness of clinical learning. Essentially, this freemium system will allow clinicians to effectively keep up with the pace of research and emerging practices in healthcare to improve patient outcomes and care. If you missed the webinar, we have uploaded it on both YouTube, or click the link below.
It was great to see the amount of interest we received about the freemium system after the webinar. Many emailed in asking for updates on when then system would be rolled out and others asked how they can sign-up. Additional insights we gained were through our polls which always seem to surprise us!
In our first poll we sought to understand what participants came to learn about. While we thought that most would be listening to gain insight into how cloud-based technologies can be utilized in healthcare, the majority of partcipants actually wanted to learn about ‘better tools for online clincal learning’ and ‘new ways to share clincal teaching material’. If you haven’t already heard , many hospital teaching and learning centres that were once cost centres, are now being asked to be cost neutral or profitable. This means that teaching material will need to be sold explaining why 71.4% of participants were wanting to discover new ways to share teaching material.
In our second poll we sought to understand what was resonating most with our audience. It was pretty straight across the board but the more of our audience appeared to resonate with the distress of not being able to keep up with the pace of research and the various barriers to accessing information—namely, the inability to access the right information at the right time and the difficulty in applying new knowledge in a real world context immediately after learning happens.
